A "Great Place to Live", Cobleskill was settled in 1752 and incorporated in 1868.


The Village is bounded by I‐88, Rt. 145, Rt. 10, Rt. 7 corridor, and Rt. 20 which provide easy access to and from Cobleskill. Neighboring communities include Richmondville, Sharon Springs, Schoharie, Middleburgh, and Summit.
